ERIKA VARRIALE

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS & HEAD COACH I CF-L2 & KIDS

Erika grew up in New Jersey and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Science from Rutgers University. She and her husband, Chris, moved to NC when he was assigned to Camp Lejeune. Her interest in CrossFit began when Chris was deployed in Afghanistan. CrossFit provided the mental focus and physical strength Erika needed to get through Chris’s deployment and also gave them a common interest, sharing the workouts of the day and PRs. Athletics have always been a part of her life; from varsity volleyball, collegiate crew, and later earning two Concept2 American Rowing Records in her age division.

Erika is not new to management. Before moving to NC, she held a management position with a biotech pharmaceutical company, subsequently set up an LLC to work remotely and launched a direct marketing business. Prior to joining CrossFit Reignited, Erika coached at and managed Down East CrossFit for four years and joined us in August 2017 where she is a head coach and oversees operations for CrossFit Reignited.

Erika is a CrossFit Level 2 trainer. In her spare time she is known to chase after homeless kittens and rescue stranded baby turtles on the beaches.

She quickly fell in love with the intensity of the training and spirit of the community. After college she was introduced to the competitive side of the sport and has continued to climb the CrossFit ladder ever since. Steph has competed at every level of CrossFit competition on teams at The CrossFit Games, Wodapalooza, Granite Games, the MACC, the Atlantic Regionals, and many more local competitions.
